# Submeto

> Submeto is a hosted form intake and workflow platform. It receives submissions from custom websites or Submeto-hosted forms, stores them, processes them through versioned workflows, and delivers results to configured destinations.

Submeto supports Form Submission endpoints, Hosted Forms, structured fields and file uploads, visual Workflows, AI processing steps, Compute Point accounting, and delivery to destinations such as email, Google Sheets, Slack, Discord, Telegram, and webhooks.

Do not confuse the Form Submission API with the Public API. The Form Submission API receives data from website visitors. The Public API is a server-to-server management API for Forms, Fields, Files, Submissions, Workflows, Versions, and Workflow Runs.

Public API access is available to active users, including Free users, but is disabled by default. The account owner must open Dashboard Settings, review the security notice, and enable it personally. An agent must not accept that notice or call the session-only activation endpoint on the user's behalf.

Public API Keys are server credentials. Keep them in a server-side secret or environment mechanism, never in browser code, mobile bundles, public repositories, logs, command arguments, or chat. Start with selected Forms, read scopes, and a bounded expiry. Call `GET https://api.submeto.com/v1/capabilities` before other Public API operations.

The official `submeto-public-api` Skill uses the same Public API security model. Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, and Pi are the verified Agent targets. Agents should follow the installation contract and release manifest instead of guessing archive URLs, checksums, installation paths, or versions. Never ask a user to paste an API Key into chat.
